Summary:   Haiti study coverPoverty, lack of knowledge, migration, gender inequality, popular beliefs, stigma and discrimination and political instability are factors that significantly contribute to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Haiti. To a large extent the country's response is donor-led; non-governmental organisations and people living with HIV/AIDS often feel left out of national decision-making processes.
 
Description:   The Panos Global AIDS Programme is a network of offices from Africa, the Caribbean, South Asia and Europe, working together to increase participation, ownership and accountability in the response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
