Summary:

The South African youth AIDS NGO, loveLife, has taken a different angle on reaching young adults with HIV prevention messages. |

Description:
|
Director David Harrison said billboards with provocative phrases such as "HIV loves sleeping around", were part of a new campaign to get the anti-AIDS message across in various local dialects.
"While progress is being made among adolescents in terms of behavioural change and lower infection rates in men in particular, what is still driving the epidemic is an explosion among 18- to 20-year-olds," Harrison told the South African Broadcasting Corporation.
The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria withdrew funding from loveLife late last year, saying it had become difficult to measure the extent to which the campaign was contributing to the reduction of HIV among young people. |
