PlusNews is a dedicated HIV/AIDS news service for Africa, produced by the UN's Integrated Regional Information Networks (IRIN). It employs some of the best local journalists contributing original and relevant features and analysis examining the complexities of the epidemic.

PlusNews is a free electronic daily news feed available in English, with a French service focusing on West and Central Africa. It seeks to improve the flow of accurate and accessible coverage of HIV and AIDS; strengthen media advocacy; encourage the sharing of research and best practice; highlight responses from governments, civil society and international organisations; and promote the voices of those infected and affected.

Among the range of products it offers is a Treatment Map charting progress towards achieving the World Health Organisation's '3 by 5' goals; a Country Profile database that provides updated contact details of local AIDS service organisations; in-depth Special Reports; and Hayden's Diary - a column written by a young South African HIV-positive PlusNews journalist.
